Full Page Capture Privacy Policy

Full Page Capture is a free Chrome extension made by Escher Group, Perth, Western Australia. This policy explains what the extension does with information.

Last updated 7 October 2026

The short version

Your captures stay on your own computer. The extension collects nothing about you, and sends nothing to us or to anyone else.

What we collect

Nothing. Full Page Capture has no accounts, no sign in, no servers and no analytics. We do not receive any information about you, the pages you capture, or the captures themselves. We cannot see whether you have installed it or how you use it. The Chrome Web Store shows us overall numbers, such as how many people have the extension installed, but never who they are.

How the extension works

Full Page Capture never runs on its own. It captures a page only when you ask it to: by clicking its icon in the toolbar, by choosing it from the menu that appears when you right-click a page, by pressing its keyboard shortcuts (Alt+Shift+F, or Alt+Shift+M for a phone capture), or by choosing to capture the same page again as a phone from a finished capture. Chrome only lets it see the tab you asked it to capture, which keeps the rest of your browsing private.

To capture a whole page, the extension takes pictures of the part of the tab you can see while it scrolls down the page, then joins them together. While it works, it scrolls the page, loads any pictures the page has not loaded yet, and hides things that would get in the way, such as cookie banners, chat buttons and pop ups, including notices added by other extensions. To decide what to hide, it looks at the items floating over the page: their size, their labels and a little of their text. That check happens inside your browser and is not kept. When the capture finishes, or you stop it, the page is put back the way it was.

For a phone capture, the extension briefly resizes the browser window and changes the tab's zoom so the page shows its phone layout, then puts both back.

Scrolling the page and loading its pictures looks to the website the same as you scrolling it yourself. The extension adds nothing about you to any of it.

What is stored on your computer

Your captures are kept by Chrome on your own computer, in the extension's own storage, as your Capture Library. They are never synced, uploaded or sent anywhere. Each capture includes:

  • the pictures of the page, and a small preview picture
  • the page's address and title, and the date and time you captured it
  • the size of the browser window, whether it was captured as a computer or a phone, and which browser tab it came from, so it can be captured again as a phone
  • a count of what was hidden from the capture
  • your note, if you write one

The extension also remembers one setting: whether clean captures, which hide clutter, are switched on.

Captures are kept until you delete them. Delete one capture, or every capture, from your Capture Library. Everything is removed when you uninstall the extension.

Downloading and copying

When you download a capture as a JPG, PNG or PDF, or download your whole library as a ZIP, the file is made on your computer and saved by Chrome like any other download. File names include the website's name, the page and the date. A PDF records the page's title and the date it was captured, and the ZIP includes a list of your captures with each page's address, title, date and your note. Keep that in mind if you share these files.

"Copy" puts a picture of the capture on your clipboard. The extension never reads your clipboard.

Links to our website

Your captures and your Capture Library contain links to Escher Group. If you click one, the address includes a tag that tells our website you came from the extension. It does not say who you are, which pages you captured, or anything about your captures. Our website has its own privacy policy.

Permissions the extension asks Chrome for

  • activeTab: lets the extension see a tab only after you ask it to capture that tab.
  • scripting: used to get the page ready for capturing, and to put it back afterwards.
  • storage and unlimitedStorage: used to keep your Capture Library and your clean capture setting on your computer. Captures can be large, so the extension asks Chrome not to limit how much it can keep.
  • contextMenus: adds the extension's options to the menu that appears when you right-click a page.

The extension asks for no access to websites in general, and includes no code from anywhere other than the extension package itself.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

The use of information by Full Page Capture, including what it reads from websites, adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. It is used only for the features described in this policy.

Children

The extension is a business tool and is not directed at children. Since it collects no information, it collects none from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date. The extension's listing on the Chrome Web Store links here.
